Dylan Verrechia

Dylan Verrechia is an award-winning Auteur-Director, Producer, and Cinematographer, with ankylosing spondylitis disability, from Saint Barthélemy, Guadeloupe Antilles. He is the recipient of 64 wins including Grand Jury Prize for Best Feature at Slamdance, Special Mention for Best Mexican Feature at Morelia Film Festival, and Best Narrative Feature at Chicago LGBTQ+ Fest for his 3-part film “Tijuana Makes Me Happy”, “Tierra madre”, and “La Pura Vida”. He helmed “Kids of the Majestic” (Best Feature Children’s Advocacy at Artivist), “Kumeyaay Land” (Apex Prize) and “The Laughter of God” (IFCT Best Director). Executive Producer of Troopers Films (Audience Award for Best Documentary at Brooklyn Film Festival for “Arakimentari” directed by Travis Klose), of Palenque Filmaciones (Grand Jury Prize for Best Dramatic at Sundance for “Padre nuestro” directed by Chris Zalla), and of 25th Frame (Best Documentary at the Milan Film Festival for “Picture Me” directed by Sara Ziff).

Dylan Verrechia graduated after the French national service in Cinema from Paris Nanterre University, La Cinémathèque Française under the guidance of Jean Rouch, and performing at Théâtre des Amandiers. He started working as a sound engineer before graduating with Honors in Film & TV from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. He assisted fashion photographers while working as a camera assistant on union films. He speaks English, French, and Spanish. His work is defined by his strong empathy for his characters, and by his commitment to people’s singular perspectives.
